I have been away from Arcata for 1 month now. Living the island life as I have for the last 2 summers. Meeting new friends this time around and having new experiences all the time. I've learned the lime plastering basics and have applied 2 coats of plaster to the LCLT office. Lime is fun to work with and learn the various applications. With lime skills one can finish natural buildings and.or work in historic building restoration and conservation. So as I develop my skills more maybe I'll be working in both worlds? Who knows :)
I've gotten to do a few things I've had in mind here for the last summers but never came to fruition: I am using the skatepark and finally (after being too scared when I was a kid) dropped in on the half pipe it was so great and an adrenaline rush for sure, I picked and did something cool with all of the wild roses that just finished having their flower times, and I got involved with a local fitness group (Crossfit). I don't necessisarilty love Crossfit, but I've realized that I need high intensity workouts to give me any results (muscle build, weight loss, etc). I think this is why I've found myself doing really fun things like aerial silks, breakdancing, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
I want to write more, but it's late and I'm going to a natural building workshop in Canada tomorrow. So when I get back this post shall be continued. Until then I will leave you with a very very sweet video:

I'm not even sure how it happened, but meeting you and Table has been awesome. Island fate. Your spirit is happy here on Lopez it seems. Hope you feel like making it part of your home for many years. Your new friend, Adam.
