New Start in Ye Olde A-town

I was in the bathroom of my new favorite neighborhood cafe called The Beachcomber (just 30 second bike ride from home) and written on the chalk board was this:
"This is not a call to action. This is not a call for momentary support, nor is it a call for reform. My experience is without intention, without goals, and without a plan. There is no need for a rationale or REAListic approach. For that process alone would install a border amongst the many that already exist. It is not my intention nor duty to inform, persuade or tell, for I am not qualified. Yet, I remain open to the random and I do reach for what I do not understand. What comes, is what goes. What is, is what will be. So I come for the curiosity and stay for the experience."
After I spent a while reading and re-reading it I decided that I must write this down for this very paragraph with the majority of is statements is how I go about life. If someone were to ask me to tell them how I do my life I would give them this paragraph. I'm pretty sure I got a teary when I read this. I wonder if that resonates for any of you?

It seems as though I haven't updated in a month. The start of 2013 has been busy. It seems easiest to bullet list poignant events/moments:
  • Spent X-mas in Port Orchard, OR with my buddy Table and her 2 roomie's families (Riley and Marlena). It was so nice to be welcomed in to stranger's homes for the holidays.
  • Had New Years with my mom and dad in Sacramento, CA. Showed my mom the Gangnam phenom.
  • Got a job with a former professor remodeling a studio unit attached to his house. He has given me creative license to do anything I can dream of. What a unique situation to be treated to. A major exercise in problem solving--score!
  • Remodeling my room. I'm turning it in to a more organized/sound fort-tree house feel. Sawsall has become my best friend :)
  • Started classes at College of the Redwoods! I LOVE community college and trade school. After doing the university thing I have to admit that comm. college is much better. Maybe it's the fact that this is my second degree so it's more "for me" or something. I don't know, but it feels different. I've been taking the bus to school and it has been great. I'm taking an Ag. class. We've learned how to herd sheep, prune fruit tress, and next Monday we're slaughtering a pig. This class is awesome! There are only 13 students and a few good friends are in it....just great. I'm also in an AutoCAD class (drafting tech) --it's very cool, because I took the hand version of this class in Freshman year of High School. Then it's woodworking 101 and an estimating class. I'm loving it.
  • Had to cut a chicken's head off on Sunday because the 2 puppies staying with us severely mamed it. So to end it's suffereing Shannon cut it's head off right on our wood chopping block. It's true---the body hops around for about 3 minutes. We tried to eat it, but the stew tasted weird. Poor girl. She survived multiple raccoon attacks in the past year. Que sera.
  • About to start silks again
  • Got in trouble with the IRS. Who knew taxes were such a big deal? :) Lesson learned.
Now that you're all caught up I'll take my leave until next time----
Sprout Out!

"Use it up. Wear it out. Make do. Or do without"--Great mantra to keep
